PRIVATE LESSONS

I am passionate about curating a lesson environment to fit each student and their goals with over 15 years of teaching experience. In lessons we will go over every aspect of playing violin or viola, to mechanical fundamentals, to pure theory understanding, to musical artistry. I will help achieve your goals whether it's a deeper understanding of the instrument, finding your voice through it, preparing for auditions, advancing in your musical milestones in the academic setting, or just finding new ways to enjoy playing.

CHAMBER COACHING

With over a decade worth of ensemble playing experience, I strongly believe that chamber music is a crucial part of becoming a more well-rounded musician. There is something magical about playing music with others that transcends words and creates an almost telepathic connection between musicians. At Darren Chan Music, I offer training aimed at honing the skills needed to master chamber music. I work with all experience levels, from novice to professional, to help you reach your fullest potential.

GROUPING

Feel free to inquire about an established group or if you would like to be put on a waitlist to be put together with other students.

Instrumentation:
Your chamber group must be a majority of strings. groups with piano players are perfectly fine as well. Though I can give ensemble instruction to wind and brass players I will be limited to the technical training I can give.  
​
If you have a child or another peer that plays piano who would like to accompany you or your child who is a violin/viola student and would like coaching, that would be included in the Chamber Coaching package.

LOCATION

In person lessons and chamber coachings will be conducting at my residence in Grand Rapids MI.

I do take requests to teach at your home.  Online Lessons also are available
